The Presidential Board for Jagathon 2024 is a group of hard-working and compassionate leaders. These 6 incredible women oversee the Jagathon Executive Board with the intent to make an impact on the lives of the children and families at Riley Hospital for Children.

Your 2024 Presidential Board!

President: Hannah Romero De Gante

First up, the President herself, Hannah! Hannah is a senior and this will be her fourth year in Jagathon! In 2021 she was a Committee Member for the Family Relations Committee, in 2022 she was the Family Events Chair for the Family Relations Committee, and in 2023 she was the Director of High School Dance Marathons. As the President of Jagathon, her role is to oversee the Jagathon organization year-round to make sure Jagathon is successful!

  • Hometown: Seymour, Indiana
  • Major: Health Sciences Pre-Occupational Therapy
  • Fun Fact: Hannah has a twin sister, Haidy!
  • Favorite Jagathon Memory: Attending and supporting our high school Dance Marathon's main events as Director of High School Dance Marathons!
  • Why does Hannah dance?: She dances for herself and her little cousin, Kian Fields, experienced the firsthand treatment of Riley Hospital for Children. This is Hannah's 8th year being involved in Dance Marathon and she wouldn't have it any other way!

Vice President of External Relations: Emma Bucher

Next up is the Vice President of External Relations, Emma Bucher! Emma is a senior and this will be her fourth year in Jagathon! In 2021 she was the Color Wars Chair on the Recruitment Committee, in 2022 she was the Cause Connection Chair on the Family Relations Committee, and last year she was the Director of Recruitment and Retention. As the Vice President of External Relations, her role is to oversee and lead the External Relations Division and support her directors with Jagathon’s social media accounts, website and blog, external relationships, and Riley families!

  • Major: Nursing
  • Fun Fact: Emma used to be a competitive dancer!
  • Favorite Jagathon Memory: Going to trunk or treat with the Riley families!
  • Why does Emma dance?: She dances for all children who are not able to dance. She wants all children to be able to dance, celebrate, and live their lives free of illness!

Vice President of Finance: Michaela Di Palmo

Next up is the Vice President of Finance, Michaela Di Palmo. Michaela is a senior and this will be her fourth year in Jagathon! In 2021, she was the Fundraising Education Chair for the Fundraising Committee, in 2022 she was the Fundraising Challenges Chair for the Fundraising Committee, and last year she was the Director of Fundraising. As the Vice President of Finance, her role is to lead four individuals in all things finance including tracking revenue and expenses, fundraising strategies, stewardship of donors and members, and mentoring our High School Dance Marathons!

  • Hometown: Avon, Indiana
  • Major: Music Therapy (BS) and Psychology (BA)
  • Fun Fact: Michaela is originally from Long Island, New York, but lived the later parts of her childhood in Avon, IN!
  • Favorite Jagathon Memory: Her favorite memory is when the 2023 Executive Board stood together, arm-in-arm, during the recap video and saw how much of an impact was made throughout the year on Riley and other students at IUPUI!
  • Why does Michaela dance?: She dances for the kids who never get the chance to.

Vice President of Governance: MaKayla Waugh

Up next is the Vice President of Governance, Makayla Waugh. MaKayla is a sophomore, and this will be her second year in Jagathon! In 2023, she was the Director of Corporate Partnerships! As the Vice President of Governance, she will implement research and guide her director in executing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in recruitment and events throughout the year like Weeks of Welcome, Battleships, Marathon to Miracles, and the Capstone Event in March of 2024! Her role focuses on the implementation of DEI practices into Jagathon as well as researching best practices and ongoing philanthropic trends. She will also amend the Jagathon constitution to aid in the transition from IUPUI Student Foundation to the IUI/IU Student Foundation.

  • Major: Epidemiology
  • Fun Fact: MaKayla enjoys cooking and baking!
  • Favorite Jagathon Memory: Her favorite Jagathon memory is doing the final total reveal on the stage at Jagathon 2023 Main Event.
  • Why does MaKayla dance?: On August 29, 2018, Reagan Swinford, a patient at Riley Hospital for Children, beloved and cherished friend of her family, lost her battle with pediatric cancer at the age of 17. She dances because no child fights alone.

Vice President of Membership: Nicole Cremasco

Up next is the Vice President of Membership, Nicole Cremasco. Nicole is a junior, and this will be her third year in Jagathon! In 2022, she was a committee member on the Entertainment Committee and in 2023 she was the Director of Committee Relations. As the Vice President of Membership, she oversees the four directors within the Membership Division. Her division is responsible for recruiting and retaining members, participants, and student organization partners for Jagathon!

  • Hometown: Valinhos, SP, Brazil and Fishers, IN
  • Major: Computer Science
  • Fun Fact: Nicole moved from Brazil 3 years ago and loves watching soccer!
  • Favorite Jagathon Memory: Her favorite memory was her first Jagathon when the final total was revealed. That was the moment she knew she wanted to stay in Jagathon and help make an even bigger impact supporting pediatric research.
  • Why does Nicole dance?: She dances to bring hope to all the kids around the world who have spent most, if not all, of their days in the hospital. She dances so kids can be kids!

Vice President of Operations: Carolyn Boone

Our last Vice President is Carolyn Boone! Carolyn is a senior and this will be her fourth year in Jagathon! In 2021, she was on the Entertainment Committee, in 2022 she was the Director of Strategic Communications, and last year she was the Director of Hospitality. As the Vice President of Operations, her role is to oversee the Operations Division who plan and execute all major events that Jagathon hosts including Main event, Battleships, and the Jagathon Carnival!

  • Major: Exercise Science, Pre- Physical Therapy
  • Fun Fact: Carolyn is obsessed with all types of sports! She supports all of the Detroit teams and loves the NFL, MLB, and NHL. She follows Motorsports including Formula One and IndyCar!
  • Favorite Jagathon Memory: Her favorite memory was attending her first in-person Jagathon in 2022. It made her more passionate about all the hard work and dedication that the Executive Board put into this! She is so sad this will be her last Jagathon on the Executive Board but will continue to support Jagathon as an Alumni after this year!
  • Why does Carolyn dance?: She dances for so many different reasons. She dances for her friends who were treated at Riley, and have grown up to be amazing leaders, friends, and overall amazing people. She dances for the future and to have more kiddos treated at Riley and grow up to be involved in their community, and for them to pursue every single dream and wish that they make on their birthday each year when they blow out the candles.
